Spamcheck

To prevent unwanted messages from reaching your email inbox, Bryn Mawr employs a service called SpamCheck (powered by Postini), which filters all incoming email for spam, phishing , and virus-infected messages. Legitimate messages are delivered to your inbox as usual, but unwanted and potentially harmful messages are diverted and quarantined in your SpamCheck Message Center. Logging in to SpamCheck allows you to review and retrieve quarantined messages. You will also receive a weekly quarantine summary email that lists recently quarantined messages and includes a convenient link to SpamCheck. Mailman

Bryn Mawr College uses a piece of software called Mailman for our list-serves. We have a mix of announcement and discussion lists, some of which are moderated, and others of which are unmoderated or "open". All configuration changes to Mailman lists can be made via the Web interface by the list owners themselves. You can subscribe to or manage mailing lists at http://mailman.brynmawr.edu. It’s happened to all of us – something happens and, all of a sudden, you are unable to access any of the files on your computer. Since you cannot prevent the unexpected from happening, you should back up your files often, saving and storing them in multiple locations. How to Create Flashcards within Artstor

Flashcards are a great way for students to memorize important information about an image. With Artstor, you can create flashcards quickly and easily. Once you have found the images you'd like to have appear on your flashcards, click the icon circled in the image below to view these images side by side with their information. Verify that the information shown is accurate, and then print the webpage by going to File and then Print. Fold the printouts between image and description, or cut out and paste them onto flashcards for an easy memory aid.

Getting Started with iMovie 6 HD

iMovie HD is currently only available in Canaday Room 313.  While iMovie 9 contains many advanced editing features, iMovie 6 HD remains the preferred iMovie program to use for simple editing, creating a roll of clips, and when updating an old iMovie project. Setting Up iTunes U

iTunes U is a piece of software created by Apple that may be used by colleges and universities to distribute digital lessons and other files to their students. Professors may choose to upload podcasts and other media files through the iTunes U plugin on Blackboard, and students may then access those files in the same way they buy music through the iTunes store.
